Savannah College of Art and Design

Founded in 1978 and located in Savannah and Atlanta, in the U.S. state of Georgia, and in Hong Kong, and Lacoste, France, the Savannah College of Art and Design is a private, degree-granting university of 10,000 students that encompasses 109 buildings with 2,870,877 square feet in the aforementioned locations.

Students pursuing fashion degrees at SCAD are prepared to lead in the complex fashion marketplace. The School of Fashion Style Lab mentorship program offers select students the opportunity to work one-on-one with industry professionals such as Zac Posen and Catherine Malandrino.

And, international media, including The New York Times and Women’s Wear Daily, attend and cover the annual SCAD Fashion show, a juried collection of undergraduate and graduate work.

Fashion Facilities and Tech

School of Fashion facilities around the world offer the same technology and resources for the study of fashion and related fields. Drawing and fashion sketching and Lecture classrooms, Accessory design labs, PC CAD labs with Cintique tablets and Adobe Creative Suite, Gerber Vision Fashion Studio Software and Gerber Plotter Infinity allowing students to create mood boards, flats, websites and portfolios are available on campus. A resource room with access to fabrics research, fashion books and magazines, and trend services Peclers Paris and WGSN further facilitates the learning and practicing process.

Jobs and Opportunities

From sketching to cobbling to marketing, fashion and accessory design, students develop a keen understanding of the history, manufacturing practice and commercial reception of their designs. Through these studies you can get a BFA, MA, MFA, and various certificates in Fashion Design. Interesting majors are also the Luxury and Fashion Management and the Fashion Marketing degree.
